HE Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi has held a meeting with the medical team participating in the NAVDEX/IDEX 2021 and the UAE Tour, in order to extend the leadership's profound gratitude for all their professional efforts during the events, through implementing all precautionary and preventive measures against Covid-19, which are considered to be one of the key factors in the success of these events. Among the attendees were HE Matar Al Nuaimi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC), along with representatives of the health centre.

HE Al Hamed's words were as follows: "I hereby convey to all of you a message of gratitude and appreciation from our iconic leadership, may Allah bless them in their endeavours, to show support for all your diligent efforts fighting the pandemic, and to honour the Government's efforts in response to the crisis. Needless to say that our leaders' main goal is to take the lead in different fields, and especially in the medical field, as the pandemic has proved that we can do the impossible when working cooperatively together, with sincerity and application to serve our dearest nation of United Arab Emirates".

The medical team has worked under the supervision of the emergency response team consisting of the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, along with public health ambassadors from all over the world, as well as the Higher Organising Committee of IDEX 2021 and NAVDEX 2021 and Abu Dhabi Sports Council, all to ensure compliance with the highest health and safety standards, and to further maintain our professional strategy in the UAE in containing the Covid-19 crisis; the medical team has graciously helped in supporting daily medical operations in all sites with regard to both exhibitions and the UAE Tour, ensuring the success thereof through the proactive preparation and organisation procedures being adopted in this regard.

The team has focused mainly on the preparation and issuance of medical protocols for both exhibitors and visitors, including the necessary medical examinations periodicals, and hygiene requirements against Covid-19 at their accommodations, along with general precautionary measures such as wearing preventative face masks, maintaining hand hygiene, observing physical distancing in all sites. The team also was responsible for supervising all the applied procedures, such as temperature checks using thermal scanners and ensuring the hospitality teams are complying with precautionary measures, along with awareness-raising and education concerning the application of such procedures during both the IDEX and NAVDEX exhibits 2021.

HE Matar Al Nuaimi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC), and lead of the emergency response team in Abu Dhabi, for his part, has commended the great efforts of the medical teams in charge, saying, "since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have spared no effort towards achieving the goals and prospects of our blessed leaders via the introduction of ideal work models and procedures to be followed in the course of rendering the UAE's government mission, in a professional way, at all levels of emergency response approaches against Covid-19. We have witnessed, over the recent period, a lot of international events being organised and held within the UAE that have stood strong in the face the test, and defeated the pandemic with regard to maintaining the participants’ health and safety, by applying all precautionary and preventative procedures, leading, eventually, to the success of IDEX/NAVDEX 2021 and the UAE Tour. We have adopted a strict strategy from the very beginning of the pandemic that reflects sustainable high-level readiness, along with proactive procedures based on an inclusive database of medical information that provides a means of early warning, along with focusing on all details relevant to the event and full and complete application of precautionary procedures of Covid-19 at all levels.

I would like, also, to commend the iconic role of the Higher Organising Committee of IDEX 2021 and NAVDEX 2021 under the presidency of HE Major General Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, and the medical committee of IDEX, whose team work approach has played a great role in the significant success of the event".

At the end of the meeting, the team expressed gratitude to our blessed leaders and all officials in charge, for their kind appreciation and the efforts made, and affirmed their determination to further render our leaders' mission, delivering all the necessary hard work and sacrifices in serving our beloved nation.
