H.E. Dr. Ahmed AlKhazraji

Acting Director General, Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre

H.E. Dr. Ahmed Abdulhadi AlKhazraji serves as Acting Director-General of Abu Dhabi Public Health Center. In this role he aims to achieve the center’s vision of moving “towards a healthy and safe society” by leading the initiatives and programs of preventing disease, prolonging life, and promoting a culture of a healthy lifestyle among community members. This also includes contributing to emergency response operations related to epidemics, infectious diseases, disasters, and crises.

Dr. AlKhazraji’s immediate past role was Executive Director of Strategy and Policy at the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, where he was responsible for leading all activities under strategic planning, performance management, institutional excellence, policy development, and Digital Health.

Prior to DOH he was the Director of Health Affairs at the Abu Dhabi Executive Office (ADEO), responsible for driving Abu Dhabi’s health agenda through the initiatives, programs, and special projects of its foundational strategies and annual plans, across health-related government and private entities.

A doctoral-trained clinician, Dr. AlKhazraji has over 15 years of healthcare experience across public and private sectors. He has held multiple clinical leadership roles at tertiary level hospitals, as well as pivotal roles and responsibilities within the healthcare realm, including chairing committees and leading projects that that introduced cutting-edge care solutions in the UAE.  
 
He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), and an alumnus of the UAE Prime Minister’s Office Government Executive Leaders program.  He completed his doctorate, master’s, and bachelor’s degrees at the University of Southern California and Marquette University, in the United States.
